Squirrel Hill

The hill provides visitors an exciting opportunity to indulge in sledding during the winter time which the kids are sure to enjoy.

Schenley park is another great outdoor destination to spend time during the weekends. This park has got the distinction of being named as America’s coolest parks by Travel and Leisure group. There is a beautiful lake called Panther Hollow at one end of the park and a Botanical garden located within the park. If you are interested in hiking, then there are a number of hiking trails that are located within the park. It also has 13 tennis courts, a soccer field with a running track surrounding it, an ice skating rink, a swimming pool and a golf course.

Apart from the outdoor recreations, Squirrel Hill has also earned a name for being one of the popular shopping and dining destinations in the area. Forbes and Murray Avenue are two of the most crowded destinations in this region as it contains a number of shopping and dining facilities. If you have young kids and grown up children in your family and worry about finding a good school, you could forget those worries, as Squirrel Hill is home to some of the top quality schools such as the Minadeo Elementary school and the Taylor Alderdice high school. The world famous Carnegie Mellon university is located very close to this region and a small portion of it is located in Squirrel hill. Chatham University is also located in the northern part of the neighborhood.

With such an abundance of educational, commercial and outdoor facilities, you are bound to have a great time living here. You could look for a single family home in lovely regions such as Shady Avenue, Beechwood Boulevard or condo apartments around Murray Avenue. After living for a while in Squirrel hill, you will certainly feel that you have made the best decision in your life time.
